another reduced power light issue.

sorry I accidentally posted in the wrong location earlier.

"As I was driving to work on the freeway (50 mile commute) the reduced power engine light came on. Drove the rest of the way until I got into San Francisco. Pulled over and checked my gas cap, oil level was fine, and coolant in the reservoir. Thought it was safe enough to drive and park at work(4 more miles), hoping the CEL would clear. After parking I turned the car off an noticed the fan didn't kick in. I turned the engine back on and turned the AC on and I believe what I was hearing is the fan kicking in. But when the engine is turned off there's still no fan. Could this be causing my reduced power CEL?"

so I went out to the car on my break. the moment I turned the engine on, I get the warning light. so I drive it a bit and park it in a stall, turn the AC on and popped the hood. the fan isn't running. turned the car off, im able to turn the fan freely, checked the fuses and none were popped. switched the relays over from each other (fan1, fan2) and started her up with the AC. fan still isn't kicking in.

You need to get the code read and post back. Could be a lot of different problems, without the code is a shot in the dark..

UPDATE: It went away on my way home last night. I was wondering if the cold weather had anything to do with it. I still took it to Pepboys and they weren't able to check stored codes with the scanner they had. I drove it to work and nothing popped up, I parked at work and the fan now works when the A/C turns on, but nothing when I turn it off. Outside temp is similar to what it was yesterday at this time. I guess my next order of business is cancel my appointment for window tint and use that money to buy a legit scanner.
