Sport Mode not working

About a week ago, the sport mode button on my 2012 R56 stopped working. It looks like replacement buttons can be found pretty cheap, but before I dive into that does anyone know an easy way to test whether it's just the switch or something else?

Thanks.

when you push the Sport button, do you get the "Sport" indicatiion in the lower tach display for a few seconds? Does the button light up?

When I press the button the green LED doesn't come on, nor is there any "Sport" indication on the tach. Even worse, no change in performance either.

Not impossible for the switch to fail, but unless something was spilled in it, it seems unlikely. Look up the wiring diagram and start troubleshooting - check the information resources here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-and-more.html

Especially newtis.info.

Is your DSC button working?

I had this problem once on my GP. Both the sport button and the GP mode button (which really is the same as DSC button on other minis) stopped working. The wiring underneath had become disconnected from the switch modules.

Thanks to all who responded -- it turned out to be the switch had gone bad -- likely due to liquid from the cup holders dripping down into it. I found a replacement on eBay for about $25 and replaced it in less than an hour.

Hello,

You are in the wrong section, you have a Gen 1(you are in Gen 2 ) , the older MINIs pre 2007 dont have the sport button,. Maybe you have an aftermarket Sprintbooster?
