Thermostat replaced error P0118

Hello, just replaced my thermostat hosing and plastic hose to the water pump on Mini 2007 non S model .
Then took a test drive and it did not work and engine got hot quickly. This is the second thermostat that I replaced. The first one was aftermarket and the second one supposed to be OEM. Could this be due to not bleeding the cooling system after the thermostat change.

Thanks
Mike

welcome aboard brother...It is necessary to bleed the system just like any other car. Also, while you're bleeding it, run the heater at max fan and max heat till you feel it very hot (like it should)

Air Bubbles in the cooling system is a killer! Make sure you have hot air coming out of the heater. Had similar problem. First Thermo was from rockauto. Was defective. Second one from Napa auto parts and works well.
