Sunroof screen - replace material?
Hi all,
I know this has been brought up in several different threads, but I have yet to find any evidence of a successful "screendectomy."
Has anyone ever replaced their sunscreen fabric with an opaque alternative? I'd love to keep the functionality of the rollback screen but have it actually block the sun. I was thinking that, if a piece of black silk was cut to the same dimensions, it would be thin enough to retract back into the roll. The problem I see is how to do the edges - it seems like there's a flexible rubberized piece that holds it inside the track.
Anyone out there with a success story and a how-to on this? I have a 2008 Clubman.
Thanks,
Nick
