Faint popping on accel / decel (maybe suspension???)

I have a 2013 R56S with 89K miles and for the past 1500 miles or so, when I pull away from a stop or sometimes braking over bumps, (but never JUST over bumps, there needs to be forward or rearward load on the suspension), there are a few faint pops that come from the front drivers side of the car. It's easier to hear with the windows up as it isolates the noise (sounds like it's coming from the direction of the shock tower.)

I have gone through and checked a few things like the shock tower nuts and replaced and retorqued my driver's side axle nut (per the recommendation of a few other threads.)

It happens still when braking over bumps with the clutch in / car in neutral. I thought at first it may be a CV issue, but if it still happens without any load on the CV, not sure it's that. It also only happens a few times during accel, stops and makes no noise while continuously moving - only makes noise coming from a stop or slowing to a stop over bumps.

Recently I replaced the clutch and replaced front sway bar bushings while I was in there. I tightened the sway bar brackets with my impact gun, so they should be good and tight.

Anyone else have a similar issue? Or any thoughts on what it could be? Thanks!

Check the ball joints (outer and inner on the lower control arm, plus on the steering tie rod), swaybar end links, lower control arm rear bushings, and top shock mounts. My guess is the outer ball joint.

Ball joints! Great thought, didn’t even cross my mind... I will do that. Thanks!
