Ignition coil upgrade & wire recommendation

Own a 2005 Cooper S with 125,000 miles. I'm contemplating an ignition coil upgrade; any recommendation/and or advise if it's worth it. Also, is there a specific brand of spark plug wires that work the best for my model? Thanks in advance 🙏🏻

I recommend getting the NGK wire as it is better quality than the OE one at fraction of the price. I endorse it and I put my money where my mouth is. For the coil if your is defective or deteriorated, I recommend finding the one made by NGK also. You can find the part number on NGK's site, or some where on my thread.

I ran an MSD coil and wires in my gen 1 car but can't remember the brand of plugs. They were colder than stock, tips were filed square and indexed. Old school racer crap.
Use grommets under the coil bolts to minimize shock and be very careful torquing down same as you don't want to crack the valve cover (ah-so grommet)'

Been looking at this coil replacement from Mini Mania today;

Would like to know your thoughts on it,

Thanks Isamin

I see the coil on Mini Mania. Are/were you happy with the purchase?

Stay away from MSD. I had one. Not only does mounting it not match and I cracked my valve cover. That aside. I fixed the oil leak with sealant. This was on my old r53.

The damn thing went out on me and I lost 2 cylinders. A lot of money to get a tow truck ride home. Luckily I still had my stock coil and I cleaned up the rusty stud and was back on the road 30 min later. Now my new JCW has rusty stud again. I need a new coil. But I will not buy the MSD. I think I will just buy a new stock coil. Mini does not make the coil. It is a chrystler engine. Who made the original coil that Mini puts in the expensive box?
