Just picked up a 2002 MCS with low miles (50K). I've gone through the FAQ's and this Cooper appears to have all the expected leaks waiting service -

- Power steering res hoses both need to be replaced
- Slight valve cover leak
- Crank Shaft position sensor o-ring leaking
- Thermostat housing leaking

This weekend I plan to put the car into front end service mode specifically to replace the CPS o-ring, but also to get a good look around. Are any of the other above jobs easier with the front end open?

If in front service, the water pump so at the same time think about the tstat and the rubber gaskets for the lower super charger air duct. Real low miles but might want to think about replacing the AC coil as those early ones were not the best.

I also suck out the coolant with my shop vac so that I know exactly how much to put back in. I rotate the hose going into the top of radiator so I can just about everything back in and then use a funnel that I have straw taped to so as to top off via the blow off screw.

Is the issue with the AC coil that it is inefficient? Or are they prone to leak refrigerant?
