Ignition coil upgrade

I have a misfire in the morning problem that I'd like to try to solve with new coils on my 2010 S with a JCW kit. 100K on the engine. I'd like to upgrade to the Bavarian Auto Sport coils for $40 a pop. Anyone out there have any experience/thoughts on these coils? Is this a good move or is the advantage so slight I might as well just stay with OEM coils? Thanks.

I've never messed around with upgraded ignition coils in the Mini. My OEM ones failed on me at 80k miles and caused a misfire. I went to my local autozone and picked up a set with a lifetime warranty. It was much faster than the misfiring coils, so that was enough upgrade for me!

I don't believe there is any performance gains or differences over OEM coils. Don't get caught by the marketing hype!!!! I have yet to see conclusive data that proves that these upgraded aftermarket coils provide an performacne increase.

^^^This is what I've always heard....I replaced mine with Delta (at least that's what I think the boxes said on them) brand from NAPA...I was in a time jam, and they had them in stock (?!)

If it only misfires in the morning have you checked your HPFP? That will cause a misfire on a cold start

Ya make sure it's the coils before you replace them. Mine misfired on cold starts for months before I realized the valves were caked with carbon.
