ABS DSC BRAKE indicators

I have an R56 justa Cooper and recently it's been freaking out and lighting up the ABS, DSC, and BRAKE indicators. It usually happens if I hit a bump which made me think it was a faulty sensor or a faulty sensor connection.

I used an OBD scanner (and later confirmed at AutoZone) to get the scan codes:
P15B8
P15DA

Anyone know what these mean?

The only info I could find was that P15DA means "Vehicle speed, wheelspeed sensor front/right plausibility: Signal implausible". So I replaced it with a MINI original sensor ($100 for crying out loud!) and that didn't help.

I'm totally stumped at this point.

Halp!

Abs dsc brake

I had this a few weeks ago. '02 R53
Stopping & restarting for a moment would clear the lights.
Hard cornering or a bumpy road would turn them on again.
Rumbling from the front that changed on corners pointed me to wheel bearings.

It turned out to be a bad R/F wheel bearing so the hub was replaced for $300 - not bad, but you can do a lot better than that. Look for Detroit Axles, though I have no experience with them.
The old hub was not 'loose' but felt like it was dry & almost seized.

Since then, the DSC light has flickered a couple of times when I wouldn't really expect it to, but that's all - no more rumbling!

Check the wheel speed sensor (ABS) : Post #9 34526851500

They can crack on install or under a huge bump. When you install the new one make sure you take your time and clean the mounting ole as I had the crack on the head and fail after install due too much rust in the hole and applying pressure cracks the head then you get the trifect lights. To know which side is bad get the schwaben tool: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d-q-and-a.html

Red or Yello Brake light?

I started having this after I went to Les Schwab to have them check a tire that was low... I have this happen off and on.

Yup, I've already replaced the wheel speed sensor (should have made it clearer in my original post). No change in behavior at all: the car starts without the warning lights but if I accelerate hard or hit a bump, all three come on.

MVPeters, you've got me worried I need a new hub!

Anyone have any other theories?

Thanks!

Pinky0r: it's a yellow BRAKE light. Does that mean anything? (I didn't know it could turn red.)

No idea what the difference is unfortunately. Mine is red brake, amber/yellow DSC ABS.

and the "!" With "ABS" flashing on the led .

Thanks to everyone for the comments and suggestions. Here's how it all turned out:

I took the car to MINI service and their code scanner said that the *left* wheel speed sensor was indicating a fault. I replaced the sensor and the problem is gone - the ABS, DSC, and BRAKE indicators don't come on any more. Sweet success!

Before I replaced the sensor I tried using an OBD II scanner and some iPhone apps to read the codes. The CarDoctor app continued to report P15B8 and P15DA but Carly reported:
Vehicle Speed, wheel speed, front / left electrically, Code 0032D5
Vehicle speed, the wheel sensor front / left plausibility, Code 002F9F
Wheel speed front left open, Code 005D8C

So I'm left with the mystery of why two OBD II apps would report completely different codes but all's well that ends well.
