My daughter has a 2009 Mini Cooper S standard shift with round keyfob inserts into dash with a push button start/stop. The car was running perfect she went to the store shut it off, come back out put the fob in push the button only a click and can hear the fuel relay running. All lights, power windows, radio, and everything work perfect but won't start. Its a standard so we can push start it and it will run fine. I figure it's either the fob switch, the starter, it's not the clutch switch in the cylinder checked that for contact from another post. Any recommendations. I just had to put a new clutch in it a couple months ago, so i would like to DIY this so I don't have to shell out a bunch of cash again if i don't have to.

 

If you can pop the clutch to start then one of two, weak battery or dead starter.

I would also check ground strap connection and battery terminal connections for being loose.

Put the battery on a trickle charger. Then load test it.

 

I checked the connections and everything is tight, I will charge and try when I get home this afternoon and see what we got.
