06 MCS A EP warning light
06 MCS A EP warning light
Hey Guys! I posted in the new members section and didn't get very far with a fault that keeps popping up for me
The EP warning light is on the dash and the fault read out from BMW ista is
Code: 002C11 EGS: Steptronic Switch: No Function with M on
Here are my symptoms Some might be related some might not
First, I don't get the gear car is in since EP light is on
When i clear the fault i get the gear back but after restarting the car after clear EP comes back
When the car is cold it shifts just fine (Mind you i did a fluid flush + re adapt when i bought the car hoping to fix the shifting issue)
When i did the flush, monitoring the temps it seems my trans fluid temp is getting very hot, more then normal
When the car is warm i have 1-2 2-3 harsh shifts and intermittent flair or slip
I am wondering if this fault has come up for somebody else and what it took to fix.
The shifting issue could be a bad valve body but i wanna start with the EP light first then move on to the valve body if thats the shifting issue.
Thanks for the help guys! trying to get this little guy sorted for my wife so i don't have to worry about her driving it!
Thanks!

We are lucky here as two vendors also have full service shops and know a whole lot more about MINI automatic transmissions than I do. Hopefully Detroit Tuned or Way Motors will chime in.
Well, looks like im experiencing two different things going on. I'm first off ordering a Revmax Valve body for the shifting issues. While i highly doubt that will take care of the fault code for the EP light issue, it should take care of the harsh shifting. still hoping for someone who has experience with this fault to chime in! the only thing ive noticed is that while i cant change between sport and drive, if i upshift with the paddle it changes the gear. if i try to downshift nothing happens.
Step tonic 2c11 code
I have the same exact issues as u but my paddle shifters work up n down the shifts . Took the car to my friend shop n scanned it. Steptronic 2c11 came up too . Did u ever fix ur prob? I have an 06 mcs . Please get back to me with ur problem . Maybe I’ll have some luck . I felt like I wrote ur post it’s so much alike what I have!!
