Light Bulb warning light

Hi. I am getting an intermittent "light bulb" warning in my '08 Clubman S. I have checked all exterior lights when it is lit (and when it is not) and I can't find any that are out. Any ideas? Is there a way to identify which one with the "Check system"/?

Did you check the license plate bulbs as well? Check out this NAM thread here for viable options. Post #14 was their issue.

There could be a bulb with a cracked filament that is making intermittent contact, or the bulb has become loose in the socket. Unfortunately if you don't have a dealer level tool that will tell you which bulb is faulty, you will have to visually confirm what the problem is.

You haven't replaced any of the exterior lighting with LED have you?

Thanks. Turns out it IS license plate lights. If I tap on the bumper they come back on. I pulled out the bulbs and reset them in the holders, but still intermittent. I will change the bulbs and see what happens. Interestingly, the warning will come on when the switch is set to automatic, but the lights are not on. Both of my BMW 540s had a similar issue with rear parking lights!

Bend the connections in a bit to create a more positive connection on the bulbs, I've had to do that on multiple cars.

Its the post, they sometimes flare out and dont touch or corrosion get in there.

Also check that plug socket itself. Its might be corroded on the back.

If you want to upgrade to leds , see here :

I have been running the Ziza ones for years , no flicker or bulb out error.

Here they are for the Clubman :
