Over a month ago, I had my car taken to a dealership after I ran empty with the fuel gauge showing ~40miles left in the tank. I got the car back shortly thereafter after stating they didn't need to work on it really once it had been given enough fuel. The car has been working fine ever since.
However, ever since then, both fuel gauges on the dashboard have been stuck on full with the numerical one resetting to 360 miles to go once I turn the car on again. Luckily I reset the trip mileage counter when I filled up the tank last so I know I've gone through at least 1/3 of the tank.
I'm a rather novice at car maintenance so I was wondering what my next course of action should be. Would resetting the ECU potentially solve this? Is there something that could've happened after running empty that would cause this to happen (both gauges were working perfectly fine beforehand)?
Bet its the arm on the fuel pump stuck up or something, see the little black float and the metal arm. Something is going on there. Or the little board came off and is hanging on the arm. You can see it in the TIS link above.
