Milky substance on oilcap

Well I went to check my oil on my 2011 mcs and it's was a tad low, nothing crazy. So I added a little oil and on the inside of the oil cap there is a milky substance. Not sure if this means there is coolant in the oil or if it's from the cold michigan winter temps causing some strange chemical reaction, ha. There wasn't anything strange on my dipstick, just typical oil. And I am a tad low on coolant but I'm only assuming it's because I have a small leak around the temp sensor. Any input would be great, thanks.

I was thinking it could also be that. I drive my car everyday I out 15k miles a year on it. But we have had temps below zero so that could be why it's not getting hot enough.

We see this all the time on cars that just get driven short distances and don't get warmed up all the way.

I'd clean the cap off and when I change the oil check the color of the oil.
If normal, forget it.
If milky, then check further.
