Broken 2011 Justa
Broken 2011 Justa
Hi everyone. I have a 2011 Justa. The other day I was driving and the yellow check engine light came on. No symptoms or anything, it just came on. I was right around the corner from my home so I stopped at home and called the dealership. They said to drive it in. The next day I went to start it and it revved to exactly 2000 RPM - it was 10 degrees out so this freaked me out. I put it in drive and it had no power at all. It wouldn't go faster than 5 MPH. I called a tow truck and they towed it to the dealer. Any ideas on what's broken? I'm just sick about it. Thanks in advance.
So here's where I'm at. Any help would be appreciated. Before I called the tow truck I replaced all 4 coils. That didn't do anything.
The dealer said there was a misfire on cylinders 1, 2, and 4, and there was a fault for the valvetronic motor. They recommended changing the plugs which were only 10k miles old and changing the oil. They said the recent super cold weather might have frozen the water in the oil. I said ok and they did the work. The car was fine for a week.
The other day I started it and the check engine light came back on. The RPMs bounced up and down to a rhythm. Bounce, bounce, bounce, bounce, etc. I drove for about 1/2 mile and it felt like the car was going to stall. I turned it off and waited 1 minute. Then I turned it back on and the engine light was gone and the car was fine.
I did notice this morning when I drove uphill while the engine was cold, the power came on in surges. Power, no power, power, no power. Kind of a bouncy feeling.
Anyway, I ordered 2 VVT solenoids just in case. But if anyone has any ideas, let me know. I tried to pull the CEL code, but it was gone when I hooked up my scanner.

72,xxx miles. Oil changes around 7,500 miles but I waited until 10,000 to have the dealer do the first one. No warm air on startup. Thanks for your help.

That is a lot of miles between oil changes because the oil will burn off and get low and that can cause a load of issues. The oil can oil get cooked and gum up the engine slowly but surely. I replace the oil no more than 5k miles and check the level every now and then.
how fast do you get hot air? (Im trying to see if the water pump or thermostat are in need of replacement). and is the coolant at a good level?

It’s never been low on oil. It usually burns about 1/2 quart between changes. The coolant reservoir was just slightly below the low mark but now it’s between the low and high marks - either the dealer added about a cup or it came from the cooling system. I get warm air to the cabin after a few minutes of driving but it’s been so bitterly cold in PA that the hot air never gets hot. Just warm.
