I have an 06 mini cooper s that I bought for a good price. It is a very fun car to drive. However, I noticed that when it is trying to shift into 2nd gear, it revs up high then jerks into 3rd gear. I'm thinking it may be a shift solenoid but I just want to confirm. Anybody had this happen to them before? I've changed the transmission fluid and filter with no luck.

Might be that solenoid or a damaged wire. Did you check the wires out on the trans fluid replacement? Sometimes its the cable harness.

I did not check the harness. I should'v payed close to attention to it. I've been looking online for the solenoid but looks like I'm going to have to change them all since they only sell sets. I'll probably change the harness too. Hopefully that will do it.

 

You may be experiencing problems with the valve body, Revmax sells a replacement valve body that we've had good luck with.

 

would the solenoids come with the valve body?
