electrical haywire
recently installed new battery on 2012 mini cooper base hardtop. Drove it a few days and now driver side window not rolling up, turn signals not working, dashboard lights off, headlights stay on when starting car even though at off position. please advise
no problem my friend. one last thought, BE AWARE of DEALER. you can buy one with matching part number and that will get you going. you may find a nearby Mini enthusiast with programming software to reprogram it for you. a small fee may apply
- Recently both windows went down when the hatch was open.
- When closing the windows, they sometimes go back down an inch
- The hatch lock seems to remain open as we try to close the hatch therefore it won't latch
- Flashers turn themselves on when the car is turned off, at the same time the hatch latch won't lock. The flashing is at a higher rate than normal. Hit the flasher button which turned it on, then hit it to turn it off and it stopped the problem.
- Ongoing - issues with not being able to lock/unlock the car using the button on the handle
- Mirrors won't fully open (car is turned on after being parked), sometimes need to close and reopen several times
This seems to be an unusual array of issues. What are your thoughts? Oh, the car is in OR.

Wow...i dont know where to start.
You have two modules that are acting up:
FRM - lights and windows.
CA (comfort access) - locking unlucking.
I think you need a scanner that cam scan and delete all codes and reintialize the modules.
It is cheaper to invest in a software that does that. I recomment delphi (chinese clone). Read up on it and see what it can do. Also, look for programming SW like inpa, ncs expert and winkfp. If you're not into these things, look for mini enthusiasts in your area who can help.
For the CA, check if the batt needs replacement.
And first and foremost, check agian that the main battery is tight and has good juice.
Finally, do you that little black sensor on the battery negative cable?

Yes, I have the battery sensor, see attached pic. The battery is a good quality AGM, coming up on 3 years old in Nov.
I also remember having the windows do the same - close then open an inch back in 2010 and the dealer reprogrammed the windows, no big deal then. Question now is, is it the same issue or is it tied to the other issues? We'll be checking for any signs of moisture in the cabin. Car has never had any other electrical gremlins so these are new on me.
