reset TPMS

2006 MC automatic ( R 50 ) NOT a Turbo

Light came on from flat.

Fixed the flat. Looked in manual to reset and get the light off in the dash.

But manual states to press reset button......wait until light goes on to reset ??

Am I missing something????

I did get it to go out, by either pressing the reset button more than a few times near the emergency brake......still not sure of the EXACT procedure .

Any input would be greatly appreciated....

Start the car. Leave in Park or Neutral. Push the turn signal stalk until the tire pressure reset shows, press the stalk button to initiate the reset. Drive for a mile or two. It's fully reset.

You're right; sorry, I thought it was an R56. I see you're 2006.

Yes.

After the flat tire has been repaired/replaced, you follow the procedure below to re-illuminate the lamp which indicates that the system has been reset. If the lamp doesn't go out right after pressing the reset button (lamp illuminates briefly), it will soon after taking the car for a drive.

From p62 of the owner's manual...

Bumping this old thread.. My TPMS light isnt going off. Does that mean a bad abs sensor? We dont have tpms sensors on the gen1 right? I have a 2007, but its a r52, so older setup.

Could be a bad ABS but typically with that you will get what is call the "light trifecta." TPMS, ABS and Brake pad sensor. You also may have been turning when you started off when resting the TPMS. You really need to find a flat straight road to do this on for it to rest, at least that is what I need to do with mine. It also goes off every time I switch from winter to summer tires. Check all the pressures as well, it one is about 4 psi or more off from the others, it will register a flat. Apparently, at about 4psi there is enough of a size difference for the ABS to register different speeds on the wheels.
