Half Engine Light - no loss of power??

Hi NAM,

I've been struggling with a reoccurring condition... 'chime' then the Half Engine Light appears (attached a photo) yet I don't get any perceptible loss of power. I have a Scangauge II and it shows no codes....no pending codes...and forcing a CLEAR CODES has no effect on the Half Engine display.

2007 MCS - stock, drive 100% of the time in Sport mode. If I baby the car for a couple of trips the Half Engine Light goes away and it seems to trigger again under aggressive acceleration. Any education on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Keep us up to date on what you find. You may already know this, but if this ends up being a HPFP issue, the 2007-2009's are covered for 10 years or 120k.

Could be to do with the wastegate flap not seating properly. Mine is in that shape now. If the car is driven hard for a while the light will come on and will go away after a while of easier driving. I do have a loss of power in that mode though. Code will not show anything with a basic OBD reader, the dealer did pull faults with their tool. I don't know about Scangauge?
