Yellow Brake Light with Yellow ! with circle on Startup
Hi Everyone. I recently purchased a 2008 Mini Cooper S 6 speed with 89000 Miles. When I start the car there is a yellow circle with and exclamation point in the middle of it. This only stays on for a short time. When I release my emergency brake, the brake light changes from red to yellow. Can any one give me ideas as to what the issue may be? Let me now if you need any more details. Thanks in advance.
check your brake fluids, check the pads, check fuses in the front and behind the kick panel of the passenger side. also pix are helpful from before and after.
also, you can scroll down the menu to "check" ot "service" and it'll tell what that might be the issue. also, try to reset it from there as well and see if it comes back or doesnt go through with the reset. do the brakes feel lower than normal?
I attached a picture of the light. I checked the fuses, and there were no service resets. I have a similar code reader but didn't find any codes. I will download a different app and see if that makes a difference. This weekend I will inspect the brakes and see how they look. Thanks for your help so far.
I think this is for the anti roll system. When you are up hill, does the car roll back when you put in the first gear and release the brake while the clutch is pressed?
Check the fuses also. Remove and reinstall the fuse to reset the system. There are few things to look at to fix the issue IF confirmed that there is an issue. One is to reprogram the abs module, two is to look at the transmission dual mass plate, three is to ignore the issue and just drive :-)
I am a few hours from Philly. I also do not think the traction control is working correctly either. On wet roads the wheels spin and the wheel turns hard to the right.
There are few elements to the ABS unit and these are some of them. I dont want to say your ABS is shot, but it is worth having it reprogrammed. there is also a YAW sensor under the passenger seat that may not be working properly. Was there water intrusion any where in that area? Can you also confirm the plug is tight are the ABS module. Do you have any programming tools like NCS expert and WinKFP?
