Will be needing to replace clutch...
I think my 2005 base model Mini-Cooper(R52) , with 5 speed manual tranny, is going to need a clutch replaced soon. Pedal is almost all the way out before any grip/movement is felt. It has 74000 miles on it. Am guessing the clutch is original.
Looking for a shop in Seattle and places north up to Everett that can do a clutch replacement. Oem clutch, don't need something fancy or for racing.
Any ideas? TIA!

Check the local google search for shops, or if you can find a BMW / MINI shop up there. Reach out to Alta performance out in Hillsboro, OR ( we carry there product ) and they might be help you with a shop.
And for the parts
For an R50 R52 MINI Cooper ( Non S ) which is what you said you have, it has a Getrag 5 speed transmission: 7/2004+ production.

For the flywheel , you can resurfaces them once, but I would not resurfaces them multiple times. If you do get it resurfaced go to a place who knows how to do them, and has a huge background with flywheels. 11227535599

Since we're on the topic, just what does a lighter weight flywheel do for a car's performance? Less weight mean better mileage since the engine and tranny is spinning less weight? Does the clutch 'feel' different? Can anyone explain flywheels for dummies?

If you haven't done your clutch yet, check out this website and have corners do it.

Did you click on the link ?
Seattle area Mini website.
If I lived anywhere near Seattle and needed someone to work on my car, the first person I would contact is the person on that website with the forum name corners. Think his real name is Kurt.

I did click on the link that sent me to the homepage of Puget Sound Mini. Didn't see any reference to a 'corners'. This latest link does show what you were orginally trying to tell me thanks.
