On idle my mini's rpms usually start high then drop to below 1000. Sometimes it drops then sounds almost like a diesel tractor with a pulsing type of sound. Originally I thought it was related to my spark plugs and ignition coil as I had the #3 lead corrosion issue, but after fixing that it still idles just as rough. Is it possible that its a timing belt/chain (not sure what r52 has)?
