having engine trouble (new to site)

Hi fellow mini owners,

I have a 09 mini cooper standard trans. not an s. a couple months ago i was experiencing what I thought was issues with my spark plugs. when in a low rpm-2000 or lower, my car would buck/ shake. I replaced my spark plugs, the problem went away for about a month. but now its back worse than ever, and my engine light randomly comes on and off. any ideas? thanks in advance.

Probably a bad coil. Swap cyl 1 coil with cyl 2 and see if the code changes..

Yes, if you swap the coil from cylinder one and the misfire changes to the cylinder you swapped it to, that could be a good indication that new coils are in order. If not, more info here if that does not resolve your issue: http://www.obd-codes.com/p0301. Let us know what you find out! Welcome to NAM too!

Coils here if needed: http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/..._pg1.htm#item4
