First Time MINI Owner - Amazing Few Weeks

Seems like my intro post when I first got my car didn't post. So here we go again!!

After lusting over MINIs for like 10 years, I finally picked up MINI a few days after New Years.

2013 MINI Cooper S w/ 48K miles. His name is Pocket Cub.

It's been several weeks and I'm still high from the joy. I walk up to him on the parking lot and I'm like......holy crap that's my car. People come up to me at work all the time to talk about. Specially the car guys. It gets me lots of attention.

I've never been into modding.....with that said. Here are some simple visual modding plans!

1. Black out all that chrome (Grille ring, headlights, tail lights, door handles, gas cap, side "S" scuttle, belt line and hood scoop)
2. Remove Bonnet stripes.
3. Lots of missing dots of paint on the front bumper and hood. Its like the first owner followed a salt truck for 50 miles.
3. I need to get a new windshield at some point, the original owner did a number on it. Look rough.
4. Badges!! Need badges!!

Cant think of anything else right now. The car looks like the car of my dreams mostly. I'm very happy with the one I picked up. I am not really a performance modding person, but sway bars and CAIs are something items I've been looking at.

On Saturday I took him in for safety inspection at Prestige MINI in NJ. They told me it needed a scheduled oil change/filter, break fuild/filter, wiper blades, other items. Bill came up to about $400. The person helping me (Ryan Patti) did a little digging and after 30-45 minutes of waiting, he told me my car was covered until 2019/100K miles of extended maintenance. That $400 bill went to Zero. I was so happy. That was truly epic. Their service was so good. Ryan rocks.

Safety inspection came back that I need 2 new rear tires. Think I'm gonna get all 4 tires replaced and start new. Looking around for tires right now. (No MINI, I'm not paying close to $500 for 2 tires)

Sorry this is so long but I'm like a kid with the best toy he could've asked for. Got my dream car!! :D

thanks and hopefully I'll be learning more from this forum. You guys seem like a nice lot
Guillo
