Gearing
Gearing
I love these little "what if" and "which is better" questions....
Which is worse?
A. Driving too fast for the gear you are in,
B. Driving too slow for the gear you are in.
Consider wear n' tear, gas mileage....

Driving too slow for the gear you are in (meaning less than 2200rpm) will
be worse.
try to maintain 2500rpm - 3000rpm while cruising around in the streets.
reving a tad higher will actually put less stress on your motor and get
more milage.

I tend to run the rpm's around 3k on the highway, about 70 mph,but always drop to 4th to pass, even if 5th will do.Don't do much city stop and go driving, tend to run the rev counter up high around the country roads, like the responce better.Never dog the car around.Come off ramps in 3rd,love going 60mph in 3rd,than run up to 70, merge, than shift up through 4th to 5th and cruise
