Help!! Today my 04 MC stumbled and stalled 1st thing this morning. The Service engine soon light came on then the "EP" message on the spedo.

Manual says EP is Tranny malfunction. After driving around a little bit everything cleared up. Lights went away, car ran great.

This evening, after sitting for a while, same problem. 14K with no probs. Only thing different is I put a tank of mobile in it a week ago, and went back to shell (my regular) yesterday. Both 93 octane.

I hope this isn't serious.

 

After you have parked the car for awhile,check under the car for oil,about in line with the bonnet release up front.Could be a bad seal,low oil in the tranny,very bad.

 

Thanks for the input lot15 Actually, I brought it in and the dealer repaired it. Faulty wiring ( somebody, not me of course ) had tried to mod something near the throttle and the spliced wiring was not making good contact. Runs great now though!
