Hello All,

I have a manual 2007 mini cooper. When you start it cold, the engine idles fine but when it warms up a bit, it gets really rough and at times cuts out. The check engine light is on and comes up with codes P0014 and P0015. Does anyone know what this is or could be because right now, I don't even know where to begin with it.

P0015: Camshaft Position, Act B - bank 1, timing over retard
P0014: Camshaft Position, Act B - bank 1, timing over advanc.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

This thread on NAM here has the codes as well, but no real answer. Might be able to post in it and see if they found the issue. Here is one on P0015 and the OP came back in with an explanation of how he resolved his issue as it ended up being a timing chain issue.

How DIY savvy are you? Looks to be sensor or timing issues. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong). That being said, you could start with the VANOS, but it could also not be your issue. We have a DIY for the VANOS here that has some good info. Hope some of these steer you in the right direction.
