So I removed the broken ring for the cigarette lighter socket. But how do I assemble it back together? Does the luminous ring go in the hole first then the socket goes in the ring or does the socket go in the ring then the whole thing goes in the hole? Also there is the light bulb that attaches on the side of the ring that doesn't seem to be working.

 

Assemble everything together first. Pull the wires up through the hole and connect them, then insert the entire assembly into the hole.

If the light bulb doesn't work, it may be burned out and you have to replace it. Make sure its wire is connected. There was a period around 2006 when cars were built without the ring illumination wiring, and theirs will not light up. If your car has the wiring, the bulb should light up along with dash illumination.

The ring comes with a bulb already, but the spade connectors are very fragile and broke on install.
I ended up wiring a flush mount LED install from superbrightleds.con.
Even did this to the little reflector on the door.

 

So I have the wiring for the light bulb. I changed out the light bulb because the old one was bad. But I noticed the light bulb isn't turning on. It's supposed to turn on with the headlight switch right?

 

Turn on with parking lights.

 

i replaced my luminous ring because it was cracked and the replacement is kind of loose do i have to tweak the metal housing or something to make it fit securely?
