Anyone familiar with code P114B

Hey guys. So I picked up an OBDII BT adapter and have been testing out the Torque app. When I went to search for codes, I got a P114B.

I've tried researching online, but there's little information on this code. All I could fine was this:

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...6&postcount=79

Oxygen sensor trim control diagnosis, bank 1

Post Catalyst Fuel Trim Via Oxygen Sensor System Too Lean (Bank 1)

Test condition: LEAN suspected under consideration of P-component ((6 (K_LA_TRIM_P_ANZ_MAX) + 3 (K_LA_TRIM_DIAG_P_SCHW P-spikes)) leads to deliberate RICH/LEAN control activation; if the pre-catalyst and post-catalyst oxygen sensors respond accordingly a trim control error is recognized.

The car was literally at the dealership last week. How could this miss this? Sigh. So many issues with my dealership...

Now I'm worried that if I approach my dealership with this issue, they will ask how do I know and possible deny warranty coverage due to me using an after market OBDII tool...

I also found this:

Obd ii code p114b for bmw 525i.
Code P114B represents a problem with your O2 sensor. Take the car to a mechanic immediately. report this answer. Updated on Thursday, February 02 2012 at 08:37A...

O2 sensor should be covered under factory warranty, right?

Help us help you:

Is it an active, or stored code?
If a stored code, then dealer wouldn't pick up on it at a basic service.

What did the dealer do to your car for service?

What have you done to your car as mods? Do you have a down pipe? Etc
How many miles?

I think it's active. How would I know for sure?

First visit was maybe less than a month ago to repair and oil leak where oil was wicking up into the DME. Second visit (last week) was for a failed battery/energy test.

All stock besides JCW r112 rims and a strut bar. 2011, MCS 23k miles.

I can't find the link now, but I think I read somewhere that it could also be the gas cap not on securely.

Thanks for the help!

No warranty problem with reading the cars OBD port. If that was the case then every car in many states that had OBD emissions tests would be out of warranty after that event.

Also a code can pop up anytime, so it might not have been relevant when you were at the dealer or they might have missed it or ignored it for whatever reason. Best thing - ask them!

Active means there is a check engine light on the dash.
If not its a stored code, and the issue might have been temporary, and corrected itself.

Im presuming you didn't see a light, but found a stored code when testing your Torque app.

Clear the code, let the car run through a check cycle, (a few days of driving)
If it doesn't return, leave it be.

P0455 is loose gas cap.
