About a year ago, I had problems with the passenger side door not opening. Nothing obviously wrong. repalced the bowden cable and door latch abd the car worked fine for about a year. A few days ago, the passenger door didn't open on the first try but did on the second. Today it refuses to open from inside or out. Unlock seem to be working as you can hear the latch move. Took the door panel off, pulled on the cable coming from the exterior door handle and door opened.

Any thoughts on what is happening and how to address? It isn't cold enough to freeze so that doesn't seem to be the cause.

I had the passenger side door open this past weekend so I could try and find out what the problem might be. There was no obvious problem. Although it is still not openning 100% of the itime, I couldn't find a pattern. It is acting as if the electronic door opening mechanism is not moving the latch mechanism far enough leaving the handle in an state where neither the inside or outside door pulls open the door.

One possible pattern, if you unlock the door with the key fob then use the inside door pull it seems to work more often. if you unlock with the key fob then try to oopen with the outside door pull, it opens some of the time but it it doesn't work, the door won't open from the insode or outside. At that point locking and unlocking doesn't seem to help.
