2002 Mini Cooper - Code P0705 - Here is a challenge!

Hello all,

I just finished rebuilding the CVT on my 2002 Mini Cooper. It is all back together, however, I have a P0705 code and the vehicle will not go faster than 10mph at a limited 2,000rpms. I read the post from forum member "numbersix":

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...sible-fix.html

I pulled the center console apart and removed the switch. Unfortunately I didn't find anything wrong with the switch. My transmission is in EP mode and will not go any faster than 10mph. I'm baffled as to what the problem could be. I've checked over all electrical connections and with the exception of one (see picture), they are all connected good and tight. Any help would be appreciated.

When I was removing the transmission I might have stretched the shift cable, however, it feels right after I put it back together. Does the P/N safety switch in the transmission talk with the PRNDL input switch? If so, maybe there is a small discrepancy causing the computer to be confused. I somewhat doubt this though. It would be really helpful to know where the other end of the Transmission PRNDL switch goes/plugs in to.

Where does this little plug go? I don't see anywhere that it could reach that it plugs into something. Perhaps it is part of a standard wiring harness and my car doesn't have this option. It is only a 2 prong plug so I doubt it has anything to do with my problem.

Remove the driver side tire on the transmission you'll see a four prong plug adapter that's probably what is giving this 0705 code. See if it is disconnected or damaged.
