Lock cylinder fell out when trying to unlock and open glove box

Lock cylinder fell out when trying to unlock and open glove box

Went to unlock my glove box only to come up with this now I can't open my glove box to get my wallet I have tried sticking it back in and that's how the other part that's not on my key fell out Any suggestions on how to open it

Lift up the glove box handle, take your finger and reach up inside underneath ( on the handle ) to feel the tab for the lock. Pull it towards yourself and the box should open. Its the bottom section of that lock hook you see in the bottom pics.

Little plastic piece is broken

The same thing happened to me. The lock came completely out and the little piece of plastic on the back came out as well. I think the little plastic piece is broken. I got the lock back in but I cannot open the box. I will try and get it open but what about that plastic piece? How does it all go back together and I think mine is broken. Can I just get that piece? I don't want to have to buy a whole new glove box.
