okay so I've looked everywhere and I cant find an answer so hopefully this will help me. This morning I went to start my car and it didn't start. It just clicked and my lights came on and flashed at the same time as the click and also my window rolled down a little at the same time as well. Also my gauges went crazy and were erratic. Any ideas on what this could be? About 2 weeks I replaced the alternator and this morning I replaced the starter because that is what I thought it was. I started it and it fired up fine. I went and drove it and it died 3 times. It did the same thing where the gauges just went crazy and everything shut off but it immediately kicked back on because I was in motion in gear. It reset my clock as well. I have no idea what this could be. Please help!

 

Have the battery tested, and verify the ground. Modern cars do crazy things when the voltage isn't right. All these symptoms point to weird electrical fails.

Odd you replaced the alternator but not the battery?

 

Might be the crank damper slipping....look at it...easy to look at while there...
Addmittly it does not account for the clock resetting....
So I would look at the ground wires....are they secure?! A loose one WILL CAUSE your issues...

 

the battery is fine. I got it tested and is still new. I don't know what is up with this thing because now it works perfectly fine! Guess we'll see what happens
