Craven Dipstick Preventative?
Craven Dipstick Preventative?
Since while owning my first MINI R52 and my current R52 I've read about the dipstick breaking, would it be wise to just go ahead and by a craven speed replacement instead as a preventative of that problem?

Or buy a new OEM one....and periodically replace it....sometimes just the tip breaks... Sometimes the fiberglass shaft....
I DID get a craven dipstick on a local group buy.....our local group/mechanic had seen so many failures, he suggested it....and ran the group buy.....

Even before I heard these reports I was always anxious on putting the derned thing back in when I had my '05. Given the reports and the same feel on the '08 it's got me really thinking about it.
It does not break (yet..)
But it's hard to read. The Craven sticks are well made and much easier to read. They are like a big slinky, but work really well.
I caved even after modding my own dipstick.
