Loose metal ratteling from driver side

Ok I have searched for this particular sound.
It comes from the electronic throttle area and only makes the sound at 4.5k rpm and higher the car does not loose performance or behave differently.
I had my head in the engine bay car parked as my girl was revving it past 4k and 5k so I can pinpoint the area of the sound.

Sounds exactly like a loose piece of metal rattling around very sharp sound. Very scary since I don't want to blow the engine.
So I have been driving under 4k and no issues.
Other then startup I can hear it for like a nanosecond every other time or not at all at startup.

Can the electronic throttle fail and cause major engine problems .

Thanks

Bet it is the heatshield...on the exaust...can get bent a bit when the oil is changed...making it rub/rattle.
Not sure what you are asking about the "electronic throttle".

Because that is where it's coming from and not the exhaust.
And a rattle would sound like a rattle not loose metal bouncing around at specific rpms
Also I can hear where it's coming from exactly from the throttle body.

Thanks

Fire Waning to all

I just hope I can get the recall done on it
It's the dam Electric Auxiliary Water Pump

Disconnected the battery after the smoke was everywhere saved the car from fire. It dint start and I was like what it's a new battery! And the smoke started with the key off

This was the noise that I was talking about in this you tube post that I found.

Now the car is dead and needs to be towed.

I'd bet the electric PS pump has failed....the electronics are not shutting it off....so it stays running...has overheated... So the odd noises...
Depending on the miles and year of the car, YOU MIGHT BE COVERED BY AN EXTENTED WARRENTY....might be worth a call to determine if it is worth pursuing with the dealer...
other possibility is a failed starter motor+relay I guess....still an electric motor...can get "stuck" on or engaged if the relay that activates it sticks......
Since it is making noise...should be EASY to find....

Thanks Zippy
I think I figured it out
I believe it's my starter

Before it failed the metal noise was the starter gear hitting the fly wheel so to speak and it failed fully engaged!!!
And when I placed the jumper battery on it is when the starter motor started burning from all the extra amps.

850 bucks to replace plus 75 tow fee to the dealer in Escondido. I have it jacked up to hammer the starter to start one more time.
It's so far deep inside I can't get a good whack at it.

The dealer described the sound as loose marbles before they fail. I guess they have seen this before.

I asked about the power steering pump and she said my vin does not show it as a covered item for the 2006 year bummer.

Thanks for looking in
