07 MCS Slow to Warm Up!?!?!?
07 MCS Slow to Warm Up!?!?!?
About 2 months ago my mini would not blow any hot air out and I was getting a couple T-stat codes. It would not get above 185* no matter how long I drove it. I replaced the whole assembly (housing, stat, and sensors). Bled the system out over about an hours time. Now I'm getting heat again and it gets to the 220-228* ranger BUT... It takes a good half hour of continuous driving for it to get there which is making it run VERY rich until it gets up to temp. Any ideas on what could be going on? Coolant level has not dropped a bit since replacement.
Maybe poor flow thru the heater core ?
Has it had regular coolant flushes ?
Unfortunately when they spec'd the car, they sacrificed heat for better emissions. The best way to obtain heat faster is by driving it, not letting it idle like the older ones then hopping in.

Its not the heat in the car I'm worried about its the actual coolant temp that is not getting up to temp. It gets plenty warm in the car. The running temp is just slow to get to 220. 15 minute stop and go commute to work with a 10 min warm up time and it only gets to about 190.
