Speed sensor advice

Recently purchased a 2006 MCS convertible. Got the trifecta of lights and got it scanned to be told that my left wheel sensor needs replacement. Allen screw came off no problem, but the plug won't budge at all. Been liquid wrenching it since this morning to no avail. Went as far as cutting the wire and sticking a screw in so I can pry it out with a hammer (remembered learning that trick somewhere in these forums). It still won't budge. I blasted it with some more liquid wrench and will give it another go tomorrow. My next option after this would be to drill the thing out. If I choose this route, some (most) plastic shavings will go into the hole. Is this bad? is there a way for me to clean this out after I'm done or just leave it as is?

This should work and the hole is nothing special. Even if you do touch and/or scuff the walls of the hole with the bit it should not be a problem. Just clean it up well and install the new sensor.

Thanks for the reply. I did just that. The last little piece ended up falling into the bearing and had to get real creative in order to get it out. When looking down into the hole all I noticed was slightly rusty steel (sort of like a rotor). What exactly does the sensor read? I was expecting to see some kind of teeth down there. The lights are still on so I'm not sure if my repair was successful (car is stored for the winter so I can't drive it). Is there any way for me to get the lights to reset (without me driving the car) to see if I did a good job?
