Hi, my airbag module has apparently packed up. In looking up 2nd-hand ones on ebay, I notice that they appear to be the identical ones used for some other BMWs of the same vintage. The difference is the BMW ones are on average $50 cheaper. Anyone have knowledge about the cross-reference/interchange of these modules? Thanks.
P.S., before anyone warns me about coding, I am used to using NCSexpert.

Also, take a look on eBay for a used module. I got one recently for about $60. It works just fine; the airbag light has not come back on.

Also, fair warning, it a pain in the butt to replace. It's under the carpet between the handbrake and center console. You have to take the seats out to pull the carpet up.

 

Update: after a lot of searching of potential BMW ABG modules that MIGHT have worked, I just went with an undeployed used one from a recycler. Didn't even require coding. Plug-n-play.
