Key Fob

I replaced my drivers door lock mechanism today and happy to report it was not half as bad as I thought it was going to be.

I then decided to get both key fobs working. One works perfect, the other was not working . I replaced the bat, and did the pairing, works great. opens , locks the doors, works just like the good one. The problem is as soon as i insert the key into the ignition the key fob stops working, once i remove the key it seems to erase the pairing.
Any ideas on how I can fix this.
thanks

Perhaps the FOB is bad?

Type in the search bar "How to reset, or reprogram a keyless remote" there's several quite detailed but simplified posts on here about how the FOB's work and what you need to do to get them synced up. There are 3 different systems in the ignition that have to be unified to get them working right. There is a poster on here that goes by Valxxx something i cant remember his whole name but he specializes in fixing them. Find his postings he has the information you seek.

I'm guessing Kongfish was referring to me. I read your original post and it had me scratching my head. Here's the Google site that another NAM member put up- it may have some help for you. I think you've tried all of these re-pairing techniques; your next stop may be at the dealer to see if they can get both keys working at the same time.

You may have a mechanical issue with the key. As in did it get damaged and is it being twisted during use?

Also are you sure you are not mixing the keys up because it sounds from your description like you added 1 key and deleted the existing key at the same time. You need to add all keys in one session.
