I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem:

I picked up my MINI Saturday afternoon :smile: and I put on about 200 miles since then. This morning, it started fine and I got to school OK. On the way home, I made a stop along the way, and when I tried to leave, it wouldn't start. After repeated attempts, it still would not start and I had to call for roadside assistance. While waiting on hold, I tried experimenting with various things to get it to work. Finally, I tried releasing the parking brake, and then it started. Since then, it seems to be running fine and starts every time. So has anyone else had this happen? Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. :smile:

 

Derwood - I've had the problem in the past where the starter gets jammed in the flywheel. To release it you rlease the hand brake and, leaving it in gear, you rock the car a small amount. This may be your problem.
