How to ziptie BPV

Hoping for replies from people who have done this, a couple of us have questions about it:

Maybe I'll look at mine this weekend, and see if I can figure it out. -I think I'm in the same boat, I can see it, touch it, just not sure what people are tying to. There's a pushrod that comes out of a vacuum diaphragm. I'm thinking to tie from where the end of the rod connects to the lever on the side of the BPV, and carefully wrap the zip tie around the back of the vacuum diaphragm.

Edit:
Did anyone else do it as I describe?
What exactly do you tie to what? (for the test)

That is exactly what I plan to do this weekend...effectively keeping the bpv closed at all times.

Not what I was expecting,... This is the BPV when the car is off, it rests against the stop with the pushrod from the vacuum diaphragm extended.

I started the car, and just parked at idle, the vacuum diaphragm pulls it all the way in the other direction.

I don't have an assistant here to operate the throttle while I watch the valve move.

At this point I'm thinking maybe the thing to do is pull the vacuum line off the diaphragm and cap it with a small bolt or something.

Got errands to run, I may have more info later.

(ugghh. Can't post the photo from my phone at the moment)

Later

Edit: I guess it posted the same photo twice

I initially thought the same thing and zip tied it the wrong way (opposite from where it sits with the car off) and I got no boost lol. Zip tie it the way it sits when the car is off and that will build boost. Unfortunately I didn't gain any psi so I don't think its the bpv for me :-(

So I hear the DT-BPV will "close all the way" and the factory one doesn't.

I'll do some research to see if it's simply a matter of adjusting the stop, or if there's more to it than that. Mines 2005, so it already has a slightly heavier spring.

I'll wait till I can get new IC Boots, and the gaskets I need, remove it, clean it, adjust it to close farther and give it a try.

My concern is that I could inadvertently introduce a yoyo. I have a very slight yoyo now, but it's mild compared to what I've read.
