I have an '02 MC. I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar problem & could offer any advice/solutions before I dive in.

The electric door lock on the passenger side doesn't work. When I use the remote on the key or the door lock switch on the center console, it only effects the driver's side and the hatch. If I pull on the inside handle, the door lock pops up and the door will open.

Has anyone else had this happen on your Cooper?

 

Yep, it's a pretty common problem. A replacement door lock actuator is fairly cheap and the install isn't too difficult. Try the search function and you'll probably find a how-to.
