DSC and BRAKE light on
DSC and BRAKE light on
wattup guys. recently my r53 has started doing this. when i put the hand brake down, the red BRAKE light stays on, and shortly after i begin moving, the DSC light turns on (DSC disengages) and i cannot turn the light off (re engage DSC) with the switch. any ideas on either? thanks! also, i have a mild coolant leak, looks like its coming from the back of the water pump. obviously the pay-day/wallet sensor is working just fine...
I dunno, but it's a good idea to check your brake fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir if you haven't checked that yet.
check to see if the switch for the hand brake is getting stuck, i was going to say wheel speed sensor but saw that you can still disengage the DSC. check to se if you have a stuck caliper. maybe the car seeing on or 2 wheels spinning less than the others is making the dcs go off.
Back from the dead! Any luck with this? I replaced my brakes and sensors all the way around (needed it) and the lights stopped for a few days... Now the same symptoms are back with the exception of the brake light, it is intermittent now where as before it was on steady. Hoping that anyone has some info. Thanks.

I had the same problem: Ebrake light would not go out with the ebrake off, and the DSC light would come one withing a 1/4 mile of driving. The DSC light would go off when I shut off the engine, but would illuminate again within 1/4 mile of driving.
I took it to my trusted (non-dealer) mechanic (who had recently done the brakes, including ebrake). He looked it over, fixed it, took it for a test-drive, and pronounced it fixed.
The brake fluid was a little low, and there is a sensor for that. Cost to fix, including fluid and time: $16.00.
Suggest the OP start there.

+1 I found that it was a sign that brake fluid was low.
Funny enough, it was low because of a failing slave cylinder. After replacement, bleeding and top-up it was all gone.
