Air inflator/fuse watt for car
Air inflator/fuse watt for car
Since I'm no longer running run flats, I decided to look into purchasing a tire inflator to have with me in the car just in case I can't make it to a gas station. Plus I would like to use it for my spare and since it needs to be at 60psi at all times I would sometime that can blow it up without exploding or taking 2 hours.
Any thoughts please and thank you?

huh?
buy a real compressor . . . even a small pancake compressor will meet your (cryptic) requirements

Most any 12v pump that plugs into the lighter will work....might take 3 or 4 minutes, or a minute to add some air, but i have owned 2 or 3 over the years, and they are about the same.....i'm guessing cause the little dc motor that opperates the compressor is limited to the 180 watts or so a car's cogrette lighter can provide.
Yeah but you can't really take those with you all the time. And I already have one that won't inflate my spare

I use the Slime one since I switched to non-runflats and it works fine if a little slow (I'd say about a minute per lb adding air). One thing I've found is that the compressor runs much faster if the engine is running rather than just the accessory circuit.
The little pumps i have...one says 100 psi max, the other says 150...kinda doubt the 150, but both had warnings that they should not be used on large "truck" tires, and have a 15 minute max runtime....i have run them for 5 minutes or so...all it took with inflating from 15 to 30 psi when i did my winter changeover....i did have to physically hold the connector to the tire to get a good seal, bit it worked fine.
