Sunroof problem

So I accidentally tried to open the sunroof while I had cargo on the roof. It attempted to open and one side opened wider and then it jammed.
Eventually I got it to close, but then jammed the next time I tried to open it.

I took the glass out and found some plastic pieces in the track, but cannot find what or where they came from. (see photo)

Any ideas?

Now the sunroof actually does retract and close, but it doesn't sound as smooth.

hmm. those look like guiding tracks of some sort. i can check my mini later, see if i can find parts that look similar. id check around inside there, see if there is an obstruction of some sort. seems strange that those pieces came apart like that! they must have been crunched pretty good

If yours is Gen1, someone currently has a sunroof assembly for sale; you better get it because I think yours is toast.

Looks like the plastic track guides like astro mentioned...no grinding or crunching noises when it happened?

Yes definitely some crunching going on.

So there's no way to get this repaired without replacing the entire assembly?
I don't think I can stomach $1000
