I got my mini yesterday and started tearing it apart. I went ahead and took everything off the front and realized that alot of the intake parts are totaly gone. Does anyone have a picture of the engine compartment of a cooper, without the plastic or metal bumpers or the radiators, so i can see what its suposed to look like?

Take some pics of the melted parts and I'll try to find pics of their non-melted equivalents.

Jonauto, please don't take this the wrong way, but dude, you really need a manual! How can you possibly know that you've gotten everything correct (not to mention all of the correct parts) if you're only looking at pictures or talking to folks online? If you can, I tip my hat to you for bravery and your keen sense of adventure.

Do a search on "manual" and you'll find info on the various places where people have found copies of the BMW TIPS (sp?) CD/software...

I can't help at all, but I would sure call MINI USA and complain
about the "Stress" cracked windshield!

Thanks for taking the time to share your project with us.

I might be able to help somehow later in the project.

^ But he says he has that (from the CD)...what he wants is a photo of how it looks in the car. (Although, my point was that this manual pic would actually be what he needed.)

That is indeed one crispy engine compartment. Looks like you need a windshield too. Was that broken from the heat of the fire, or was there some sort of collision as well?

I believe that some aftermarket intakes are simply a cone filter stuck onto the right end of (13) while others replace (13) entirely.
