Wind Noise from this Vent
Trending Topics
That is actually has the Sensor for the alarm in it. If your car has the alarm. The mic is farther forward in the same pod.
I would have to agree about a problem with the windshield. Since there is no sensor in there the air is probably flowing through the pod. Also, are you sure it is coming out the pod. There is a vent on the top of the dash that has air coming out it all the time. It blows at an up and rearward angle that might be what you are feeling.
to determine if there is an air leak around the glass (I had one once and it was hard to find and this worked for me) Go buy some blue or green masking tape (they hold better) and cover the entire top edge of where the glass meets the seal meets the body.
Take a test drive... AT SPEED . . .
If the sound goes away then start reducing the area you tape.
Took me a full Saturday to find my leak on a Honda . . . after having the front glass replaced. <once pin pointed to SAFELITE they fixed it PRONTO with many many appol's>
BUT that Honda had been a recipient of a new front glass piece . . . has your car rec'd new glass???? Is this something NEW, or a new car to you so U dunno? {I see 27 posts suggesting newbie}

well then all I can offer was that I chased a noise that I was SURE came from the overhead for a year
and eventually fixed it with felt between the front endge of the dash and the glass . . .
But UMMM
a few posts up you say
Could there be a leak in the windshield seal allowing air into that top section?
That is what I was thinking.
but now you say you eliminated that . . . busy day . . .
