No I didn't. But there wasn't much to see. The LCD was very pixilated and not readable.

Exactly how mine is when it's hot outside. When it's not too hot, it appears to be fine.

But I'm looking forward to the outcome, if I like what I see I'll have to pull the trigger!

I got the stereo back and it was packed well when I received it. I installed it back into my car in about 30 minutes. It fired right up and looks as good as new.

HOWEVER, before I sent it in for repair, the stereo could make hands free Bluetooth calling. Now it does NOT work and I Do NOT even have that option in the stereo menu. Any ideas?

Or you can buy the LCD display and do it yourself for half the price.

Its Alpine CD73 LCD Screen Assembly. ECS Tuning sells it or on EBAY. $90.

How hard is it to replace the actual display? I am about to tackle it myself. The part just came in. I am not worried about removing the radio, just do not know what I am in for after that. I am pretty technical, just do not know what to expect. Thanks!

I was an installer for a couple of years when I was younger. I am not afraid of removing the radio, I just have never done the second part which is to replace the actual display. I would LOVE to hear from someone that has done that part. Odd that I cannot find any info on that part of the job.

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear before. I have the part already. I was just curious if anyone has actually replaced the lcd itself on their own. I know how to take the unit out due to the helpful videos on here, just can't find any information from someone who actually took the radio apart, and replaced the screen.

Well, I just did it. Working perfectly it seems. I have not driven it yet, but I tested it after complete. This is definitely not a simple task. I do not think the display was that difficult to swap out, although it was tedious. However, you have to really take a lit apart to get the radio out of the car. I would not want to do that again. I guess doing it outside in the heat did not help, but you really need patience to do it.

Given that, I would NEVER pay another 75.00 to have someone else do the display swap online. Removing the radio is the hardest part. If you have ot get it removed yourself, you may as well swap the screen too.

I did not. The videos online show how to get the radio out, and I looked at those prior to starting. The screen replacement is not that difficult at all. If you can take the hard apart, you can easily see how to swap the screen out. I was so hot and frustrated outside that I was rushing to get back indoors.

Awesome bro.

$75 plus the shipping plus the waiting...ridiculous. Like you said the radio removal is the annoying part.

Imagine what the stealership asks for this R&R?! Probably the entire radio plus labor.

You should have taken some pics for the community bro.

I know, I am kicking myself for not taking them. Although there was not much to the screen replacement part of it. These little metal edges that needed to be twisted to get the metal plate off of the screen, and two screws was about it. Pictures would be nice just to know what to expect, but it hits you right in the face once you get the radio out.

Maybe I'm missing something but I've taken every screw off the stereo and still can't get the LCD off. So frustrated.
