Bad design
While this pipe is NOT Re-usable once taken off, that articulation you demonstrate in that video of that joint IS Perfectly NORMAL...

Carry on !

G RAY! This makes my day! thanks the video was found on you tube

Just to confirm: the tube moves in an out But the O Ring keeps the seal. &The ridge on the pipe which is on the inner side of the O Ring seat prevents the tube from coming out completely ? The loose play tightens up with oil pressure?
Thanks very much
John

Nuts , I am leaking: Oil stops leaking when the tube is pressed in , when it is not being pressed in, it leaks

Question:When pressed in ,is the oil being blocked/starving the turbo OR is the just sealing some how?

Here is a photo: http://screencast.com/t/D4G8d8jqycIK

What side is the pipe ridge on : A or B ?

TIA

The pipe end fitting has to be pulled taught for the o-ring to seal.

Most engine oil pressure is 35 - 40, not sure what it is exactly for that line however.

If you trying to "reuse" that oil feed line Francis, they are not designed to be reinstalled once removed.

A new line, new crush washers (x4) and new banjo bolts (x2) is a requirement, never a recommendation. They will always leak if this procedure is not followed. They typically need replacing due to leaks every 60-70k miles as do oil filter housing gaskets, so best to do them all same time.

Gray R,

Not sure I agree about the oil line not being reusable. Its ideal to use new copper washers but those can get recrushed too. Banjo bolts can be reused.

The oil filter housing...ya man that's a messy job. I did a write up on that crappy endeavor.

I got it done in the shop ......I had clamped it in place with a plumbing clamp and it was fine , no leaking at all, but I don't want to start leaving hacks like that in place. I reinstalled my RaceChip Pro and I am really loving the car! Just super on the twisty back roads in the South of France.

More information found for the oil line leak at:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...feed-line.html
I purchased mine at Way(https://www.waymotorworks.com/wmw-st...-line-kit.html) and after 2 years its working great, no leakages at the oil line, now have to worry about leakage at the valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket, you just cant win with this engine.

Dont forget the vacuum pump o-ring and the oil cooler gaskets. The latter is a major major PIA.

ya sounds like you/they? didnt seal something all the way. Take a water spray bottle and spray around the joints to see if you see pressurized air coming from between the joints.

The turbo doesnt need to come off for that job.

The turbo recirc valve may be stuck open.
