Rear Sway Bar Bushings Worn? R56 2008 justa Cooper
Just took my 2008 MINI Cooper in for it's "Vehicle Check" around 49,000km. Anyways, they say they replaced the rear sway bar bushings as they were worn. Is this common? I'm not too concerned as it was replaced under warranty, but I am still curious. They also replaced the worn chrome ring around my key fob
Worn plastic "chrome" ring on the key is a really common thing. You'll notice that the new replacement is actually real metal - imagine that!

The other thing that goes is the front control arm bushings. They start to rattle when you hit bumps. So much quieter after they are replaced. Went with the poly bushing, myself. No increase in HNV, just much quieter. Also improved the handling, especially the "turn-in" and bump steer under braking.
